Real experiences from real travelers
Seeing the polar bears in the snow was a bucket list moment! The park is beautiful and the walk is easy. We booked a tour with transport which made it so stress-free. Highly recommend the buffet lunch afterwards.
The animals have huge enclosures which is great to see. We saw wolves, lynx and the polar bears. Be warned, it was -25C when we went, so dress warmer than you think you need to! The Fazer chocolate shop was a nice warm finish.
Our guide was fantastic at spotting the animals that were hiding in the snow. The owl collection is impressive. The transfer from Rovaniemi was comfortable and on time.
Perfect for kids. We rented a sled for our toddler which was fun for him. The path is long but easy. The restaurant gets very busy at lunch time so go early.
This was better than Santa Village for us. Real nature, quiet forest, and amazing animals. The wolverines were very active. Booking online saved us time at the entrance.
The bus ride is about an hour each way. The zoo itself is lovely, but in November the brown bears were already hibernating so we missed them. Polar bears were active though!
The forest is like a fairytale. Even if you don't see all the animals, the walk itself is stunning. The guides provided thermal overalls which saved us from the freezing cold.
Come for the animals, stay for the chocolate! The zoo is well laid out. It takes about 2 hours to walk around properly. The transport picked us up right from our hotel.

Yes, it is very family-friendly. In winter, you can rent sledges to pull small children along the paths, which they love. The path is safe and fenced.
